Body Scrub

Body scrub is basically a concoction used to scrub away the dead skin cells from the body. It exfoliates and hydrates the skin leaving it smooth and soft. It is done with abrasive materials like salt, sugar, coffee grounds, rice bran and with essential oils. It is a treatment that replaces the skin cells every 28 days.

What Is A Body Scrub Good For?

There are several advantages to a body scrub. It will exfoliate the skin, sloughing off dead skin cells and rubbing away hard and flaky skin, leaving it soft and smooth.  Scrub products consist of an oily base which moisturizes and soothes the skin as it is scrubbed.

A scrub is invigorating and can improve the blood circulation and lymph to the surface of the skin enabling it to fight cellulite and enhance the skin tone. An ideal body scrub forms the foundation of other body treatments.

  • It prepares the skin for an even tan
  • It opens the pores and wakens the skin before a wrap or mud treatment
  • The oils are used to relax or stimulate the senses ready for any similarly focused treatment that you may have later.

What Can You Expect For A Body Scrub?

Various spas have a range of facilities and white lotus gives a body scrub in a different way. It is normal to have it lying down and if you are lucky, then you can get it done on a heated plinth or table to keep the body warm while the treatment is going on. As the products are washed off the body, the table will get in the process.

The therapist will ask you what kind of a product would you want, giving you a choice of smells or asking you whether you want to feel relaxed by the body scrub. They will tell you all about the product and tell you what is going to happen every step of the way. The scrub will begin with one side of the back and the product will be rubbed all over the body.
